Moving is many things, but it is certainly not easy. It typically takes an average of six months or more to make adjustments to a new culture and community. When stress seems like your constant companion (after all, moving ranks close to losing a spouse in causing stress), you are often spiritually more open. Who knows what possibilities there are for you in this new beginning? Time to give up some poor habits fostered in your primary culture? To travel or attend various cultural events or learn Czech? To start communicating more with your family? An opportunity to draw closer to God?
We offer this website to the expatriate community as a stepping stone toward mastering everyday life in Prague. It is designed to facilitate your transition to Prague, so that you can begin to take advantage of all this wonderful city has to offer. This might be a golden opportunity, not to simply replicate your old life, but rather to learn from the Czech people about their perspective on life. Whatever lies before you, we suspect you will have an unforgettable experience here.
If there is any way we as a Christian community in Prague can be of help or service to you in your new surroundings, please do not hesitate to call on us. The International Church of Prague wishes you God’s richest blessings during your stay here!
